MEET THE ARTIST
Hi! I'm Beth, a 20-year-old artist studying at Loughborough University. I enjoy painting animal oil portraits that have a soft-focus appearance, meaning they are a hazy around the edges giving them a dreamy, romantic feeling. I have been creating art throughout my entire life but only picked up oil painting in 2021. I started my journey creating artwork with graphite, coloured pencils and acrylic paint before finally discovering oil paints.
Custom Pet Paintings is a project working towards my diploma qualification as part of my degree working with Loughborough University's Enterprise Network. Therefore all of my time is dedicated to Custom Pet Paintings until September 2026. Keep on the look out though, because I plan to continue taking commissions and selling my artwork after my graduation.
Consider visiting my stall at the Culcheth Christmas Markets on the 29th of November 2025 where I will be selling prints, original artwork, Christmas cards, bracelets and taking commissions at a discounted rate. This can be a great opportunity to discuss your pet painting commission ideas and see my art work up close in person. There will be lots of exciting stalls alongside mine so save the date and I look forward to seeing you there!

What if I'm not happy with the result?
To ensure customer satisfaction, before your painting is shipped off to you, I will email a photo to you to make sure you are happy with the final outcome and to see if you would like to make any changes. Please note: if you do not reply to this email within 1 week, I will assume you are pleased with the outcome and ship the pet painting to you. If you would like regular update images regarding the progress of the commission I am happy to provide these upon request.
Do you deliver to outside of the UK?
Yes, as of recently Custom Pet Paintings now ships to pet lovers in the UK and internationally. Free worldwide shipping is available when you order through this website. Need your pet painting delivered by a certain date? Get in contact and I will do my best to accommodate your request.
How long will it take for my painting to arrive?
Custom paintings should arrive within one month from when you email shop@custompetpaintings.co.uk with a photo of your pet. A5 commissions may arrive quicker than bigger sizes as they take less time to complete, but all pet paintings are shipped out one week after you recieve a photo of your finished portrait. This allows time for the pet painting to dry before it is packaged and shipped. Please note that prints and original artwork will take less time to arrive than commissioned custom paintings.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CUSTOM PET PAINTING PROCESS
All of my pet paintings are done in oil paint over canvas paper. I use 300GSM paper made for oils with a canvas texture as I find canvas paper is a professional and easy to frame way to paint pet commissions. Because the paper isn't bulky like a traditional canvas, transportation is more efficient. The paints I use for my pet painting commissions are Winsor & Newton oil paints, which I find to be really good quality and work the best from my artwork. Throughout the majority of my paintings I try to stick to the zorn palette, and prefer painting alla prima, however this isn't always possible as pet paintings usually take longer than one sitting to complete.
I begin each custom pet painting by creating a sketch from the photo sent to me and then filling in the background with the customer's chosen colour. I choose to lay down the background first because I find it becomes easier to blend the fur to create a soft appearance. After this I start to paint the subject, usually working from dark to light and adding the details as I go. For bigger pet paintings, I tend to work in sections instead of looking at the piece as a whole, which helps with when the paint begins to dry. Once myself and the customer are happy with the pet painting, it is left to dry for a week before being carefully packaged and shipped to it's new home

Special requests for my pet painting commissions are something I am always open to as I try to be as accommodating as possible when it comes to my custom portraits. Whether its a custom background, specific dimensions or different medium you are after, don't hesitate to get in contact so we can discuss the possibilities and you can hear the reasonable prices I have to offer. In the past I have created graphite pencil commissions, pet paintings on canvas and I have completed pieces of art on a larger scale to cater to customer's desires.
